Best brand for baby stroller and car seat?

Having a baby really soon and looking for a safe durable car seat and stroller.. Also what is a good crib? thanks!

Well, the Britax and Radian lines are probably the best and most durable car seats.

As far as strollers go, it depends on the use. If you want to use it from newborn up then you want it to lay completely flat. The Chicco brand strollers are really good for that, so are the Graco Quatro Plus, but if you can find one of the ones where the handle of the stroller turns around so they’re laying flat and facing you then that is best for the babies. If not, then make sure you stop often to talk to and engage your baby face to face.

Strollers should not be used with car seats. Car seats are for traveling in the car. Because of the angle and the way they are, oxygen levels can become an issue for as many as 20% of babies (especially newborns and preemies.) So don’t limit yourself to a stroller and car seat combo.

Add: For the record, not that I don’t like Graco, I just don’t consider it the most durable. They’re safe though. Right now my son uses a Graco Snugride 35, and I plan on using a My-Ride when he grows out of it. But Britax has steel reinforcement and Radian is made out of steel (making it last 8 years instead of the 6 years that most plastic car seats have.) The safest car seat is one you put in properly, and one that is rear-facing to at least 2 years and preferably 4 years. So the higher rear-facing weights are important. The Graco My-Ride rear faces to 40 then forward to 65, the Britax lines now rear-face to 40 and forward to 70, and the Radian rear-faces to 45 and forward to 80. I’d rather someone buy one of these over an infant carrier.

But if I was to recommend a line, Britax or Radian Sunshine Kids would be the ones I’d recommend for durability.

How does the Graco Baby Stroller Model #1747491 fold up and adjust?

I received a Graco Baby Stroller Model #1747491 and I don’t have an owner’s manual for it. How does it fold up? Also, how does the seat levels adjust? I am hoping that it is not broke! Thanks in advance!

what feature in a stroller is most important to you? what would you like to see in a stroller?

1, safety (dont wont an incident like that little boy that got his finger taken off by the silver cross pop stroller)

2, seat (padding, is it fully reclinable? etc)

3, basket is it big enough for my needs ie do you go out shopping alot or will you just be using it for public transport.

4, is it suitable for public transport (does it fold easily, does it have a carry handle)

5, raincover (do you get one with it if not can you buy them seperately especially for that stroller?

They would be my main concerns to look out for!

I would prefer a top of the range stroller that is well designed and manufactured. (price not important). It needs to be suitable for a newborn (I.e.flat) and I am interested in the unfolded size as I need it to fit in a small elevator. Happy to buy internationally. So far Bugaboo Bee at 51cm is smallest i have found. Thank you

A Maclaren pram. Not sure of the dimensions at a guess widthways around 48cm, it will fit anywhere, I’ve never had a problem. I got the Maclaren turbo xt which is suitable from newborn, but there are lot’s of other designs. Good luck!

cause my sister is comming home and she wants to buy me a stroller,but the thing is she knew that she can’t take it with her on the plane, and if she puts it in cargo she will pay a fortune..

Normally strollers and car seats are allowed to be gate-checked for free IF the child is with the passenger. If the child is not there, it is then no longer a "mobility device", exempt from baggage rules and fees.

My sister brought me a combined stroller car seat. She was annoyed at arrival because she was charged as baggage for it. "I thought they were free!" She lamented. Well, yes, if you have a child with you! (She was single at the time).

Maybe they’ll be nice and let it through? Just don’t mention it and say you want to bring it to the gate. It might look funny (phantom child syndrome?) but just say you want it gate-checked, not luggage checked because there is less chance of damage.

Please don’t try to bring it in the plane itself. One of our jobs as the greeter was to "catch" parents trying to do this. There is simply no room to store them!
