How do you do household chores when you have a newborn baby?

I recently had a baby on November 16th and have noticed that it is extremely hard to do things around the house. For example if I am cooking or doing laundry, he starts crying and I have to stop what I am doing and go tend to him. For all the experienced mom, how did you get things done around your house when you had a newborn baby, also does it get easier as they get older?

you have to wait until they sleep, when they are older you have to make it fun for them to help!

How can you tell if your dog is getting jealous of a newborn baby?

We just had a newborn baby girl and I’ve heard that dogs can get jealous of the newest family member. Is that true? And if so, how can you tell if your dog is getting jealous? Are there any signs?

of jealousy–does the dog demand your attention when you are holding the baby? That’s one of the first ones to notice.

Certainly dogs can get jealous, but if you anticipate them, you will probably be able to forestall any problems.

Make sure the dog is included. Let the dog get a good solid smell, while giving the dog lots of positive attention, and make sure that items with the baby’s scent get put around the home.

Make sure, at least at first, that when you’re holding the baby, you’re also talking and making eye contact and using that loving tone with the dog. If the dog doesn’t feel slighted, and if he or she is included, you shouldn’t have any real problem. If the dog is allowed up on the furniture, while you’re nursing or cuddling the baby, pet the dog while you’re holding the baby.

Keep the dog as close to the regular routine as possible, and make sure that he or she gets plenty of love and attention. You do have the chance to work into it slowly–the baby spends so much time asleep in the first couple of weeks.

Our two love little kids–and that is pretty common, since little children often smell like all the stuff they’ve spilled on themselves.

I have heard so many different opinions and wanted to hear when you started putting moisturizers on your baby and putting oils and bits in the bath for your newborn ?
My partner has severe excema so i dont want to start too early but at the same time his skin is really dry and i dont want to leave it too long!!

when she was 6 weeks we started giving her baths in the tub and using baby soap, shampoo, and lotion.. it was then when her belly button was all healed up and the scab was gone.. before we just did sponge baths with water

How long should I wait before I can take my newborn baby out for a stroll at the mall?

Is there any rule of thumb to wait before you can take a newborn baby outside of your house. We have a new stroller and its just collecting dust and we want to give it a spin. We want to go to the mall to do some more baby shopping but don’t know if we should risk taking baby with us.

We took our daughter to the county fair at 3 weeks, and no harm done. I see newborns out all the time, even just a few days old, and doing just fine.

You will need to leave lots of extra time for people to admire your child, and be aware that little kids love to look at babies, so keep an eye out for anyone with a cough. Expect your baby to need feeding and changing and then fall asleep while you are there.

Why does my newborn baby always cries at night?

I just don’t know why my newborn baby girl that is almost 2 months cries every night. I feed her and change her and she still cries. She doesn’t goes to sleep at night. She only sleep in the day. What should I do? When I carry her in my arms she fall asleep then I put her back to her crib. She cires in her cribs. Should I feed her more milk or can I give her too much milk?I don’t want to over feed her. Sometimes she cries too. On her swing she still cries. .

Sounds like colics to me.

I used to give my daughter a warm bath to help calm her. I would lift her legs up (bent over her tummy) and move them in a clockwise motion. It helped her pass gas.

I also used to hold her close to me (head on my shoulder) and rock her until she’d fall asleep. The warmth of my body helped her colics (and it’s good to tone your back and abs muscles!).

You can’t really give too much milk – she’ll stop eating and spit up the surplus. If you are holding back on the feeding, maybe she’s just hungry?

where can i find everything for a newborn baby, good brand names ? i’m just planning to prepare for a baby coz i’ll do my IVF by the end of this moth .

i’m kind of preparing right now also and i’m only 17 and 2 but i am so ready and excited. and i don’t even know what i’m having but i feel like its a boy. i got a 150 reading but i still think its a boy. once upon a child has nice clothes and onesies for $1 and everything else you may need like furniture. old navy has some nice cheap clothes, outfits, shoes and accessories. Macy’s has allot of cute name brand clothes for baby’s. i went online and looked and they had nice ralph lauren outfits that i’m gonna buy up. they also had guess clothes which were nice. now for some other things you may need to check online like i have been doing to see who has the best prices between walmart, target and kmart and keep an eye open for sales or the dollar general or something which i haven’t check on yet. walmart may have cheaper pacifiers than target and target may have a better jumper or mattress that you may want. i think jcpenny’s, sears, and macy’s may be too high but i may be wrong and it wouldn’t be bad to catch a sale with them. what i did to keep me a little sane was make a list of everything i think i may need in microsoft. try to save money wherever you can because we are going to end up getting rid of most of it.

Is it safe to be near a newborn baby after a nuclear stress test?

I had a nuclear stress test four days ago. A loved one is in the hospital right now and will be giving birth within the next 24 hours. Is it safe for me to be close to the mom to be? Is it safe for me to be close to the newborn baby when she’s born?

My mom was in the same situation, and she was told to stay away from my baby for 24 hours. Still, with a newborn, i’d try to stay away loner.

Is it wrong to mark your newborn baby so you can tell it is yours?

If you just had a newborn child, and before the nurses take it away, is it wrong to mark the baby? That way, if the nurses mix it up, you can tell if there’s a mistake or someone swapped it.

If you do mark it, in what way should it be done?

Most times, a bracelet is put around the ankle of the baby that matches the mother and fathers bracelet before they even take it to the nursery. Then, every time the baby is brought back to your room, the numbers on each bracelet will be checked to make sure they match up.

However, I’m not sure how anyone would NOT know they were brought the wrong baby. I could recognize my kids as soon as I first saw them. Or, better, yet, just never let the baby out of your sight. Anything they do in the nursery can be done in your room, or someone can always go with the baby when he/she is in the nursery. Much better than marking on your baby’s delicate newborn skin with a magic marker or something.
