Are there any differences in raising a newborn baby girl rather than a boy?
Im 34 weeks pregnant and having a girl. I already have a 14 month old son. Everyone has been telling me how boys are so much easier than girls and that baby girls are nightmares and so much more work than boys. My cousin had a girl first and about 4 months ago had a boy and keeps saying that the boy is so much easier than her daughter. So my question is, are there any differences that would make looking after a newborn girl harder than a boy? And anything else i should know about newborn baby girls
No, a baby is a baby. Every baby is a little different but it has nothing to do with gender. Probably that person just has a preference to boys or something. A lot of people do, sadly. If you have a favorite or a preferred gender you will no doubt find the less favorable one more difficult at some point. If she is saying that about her daughter in infancy no doubt her daughter will be harder to raise as she will only give her grief for it as she gets older.
I would say not. At least not while they are babies. My best friend had a girl And I have a boy. They are the exact same age and there is no difference. I think the only difference might be in the teenage years. Especially with all the peer presser to be perfect for a girl has to be hard. But you were a teenage girl once so you know what will go through her mind. If I were you I wouldn’t worry about it. Your daughter will be who she is and you will love her regardless. ~Congrats on your baby girl.

you need to buy pink clothes instead of blue ones, and girls are quicker to toilet train. but apart from that they are the same really

You don’t circumcise a girl?

The most obvious answer is that baby girls will not poop, whereas a baby boy will.

I don’t think that at a newborn age they are any harder or easier, but something I found out is that you have to make sure you baby boys diaper is on a lot more secure and his penis is pointed down or he’ll pee all over himself. that’s something you obviously don’t have to do for a newborn girl also watched out when your changing him or you’ll get peed on- I noticed my baby boy’s pee shot out a lot further after he was circumcised.

There is not much difference between a boy and a girl when there babies. Its the teen age yrs that will be different. I had a girl first and now I have a 4 month old son. My daughter was a breeze. She was so laid back, happy, healthy, and went with the flow. She is almost 17 yrs old, and wow what a different child she is. The teenage years with girls are not always pleasant.
When I found out I was having a boy I thought this will be different but it hasn’t been. Except he was circumsized and you need to be careful when changing little boys, because with out warning they will pee on you or themselves. So far with my son he has been like my daughter easy going, happy, healthy, smiling, being cute. I have heard boy are harder to take care of cause they can be more lazy and I heard toilet training boys is not that easy either.
I am sure you will do great with your daughter. Having a daughter was awesome. It was like a little me running around. And the clothes for little girls are so pretty. Sometimes little girls can wrap there daddies around there fingers or be mommies little girl.
Good Luck
