How long should I wait before I can take my newborn baby out for a stroll at the mall?
Is there any rule of thumb to wait before you can take a newborn baby outside of your house. We have a new stroller and its just collecting dust and we want to give it a spin. We want to go to the mall to do some more baby shopping but don’t know if we should risk taking baby with us.
We took our daughter to the county fair at 3 weeks, and no harm done. I see newborns out all the time, even just a few days old, and doing just fine.
You will need to leave lots of extra time for people to admire your child, and be aware that little kids love to look at babies, so keep an eye out for anyone with a cough. Expect your baby to need feeding and changing and then fall asleep while you are there.
