How old should someone be to babysit a newborn or 9 month old baby?
One of my good family friends is going to adopt either a nine month old, or a newborn baby. She is a music teacher, and has asked me to watch her baby for one hour while she teaches lessons, until her husband comes home. How old should someone be to watch the baby, given that the mother will physically be in the house? I’m purposely leaving out my age to see what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance.
At least 13 years old, and make sure they have taken a babysitter training class. I personally just recently took one, and it covers EVERYTHING on newborn babies. My suggestion though, is to get an older woman, particularly a nanny, to stay with the baby for the day. That usually works out better because an older woman would have more experience, and would probably enjoy it more. Us teens love babies, but won’t completely commit to coming over too often
